The new Guitar Hero game that is exclusively Metallica music will be released in the first half of 2009 Guitar Hero and Rock Band have become some of the most popular video games. The brands have even extended themselves into sequels and variations of the game. Next up for Guitar Hero will be the release of Metallica’s own Guitar Hero game confirmed by Metallica’s official website. Rollingstone.com reports that the game will be released within the first six months of 2009. This release furthers the relationship between Guitar Hero and Metallica as they previously made Death Magnetic available for Guitar Hero 3 play. This will be the second release in which a band puts various songs together for play; the first was Aerosmith. On the new Metallica game you’ll be able to play as the band, play as yourself in career mode or even move to a special expert mode. The expert mode will feature two kick drum pedals for the faux drum kit. This is in order to replicate the way Lars Ulrich plays the drums. “Sad but True” and “Enter Sandman” are just two of the popular songs that have been confirmed for the game by the gaming community and reported by Rollingstone.com. Our Take: There isn’t anything wrong with a new way to enjoy Metallica’s music. Many fans will flock to gaming stores to purchase this new disc, as they very well should. Regardless if you are a fan, one should respect Metallica and with that said one can appreciate playing their songs on Guitar Hero. The ability to learn and mimic Ulrich is a cool innovative idea. Too bad it’s not coming out in time for Christmas. Matt Kappel
