[QUESTION] 3.5mm output from guitar?

I inherited a modified 1958 levin from my grandmother, but the outputs are kind of messed up. It has two different outputs from the two pickups with their own tone and volume. The outputs weirdly are 3.5 mm outputs. Its noisy as hell when using a thin 3.5mm cable because of all the interference? I need some input on what to do here. I have never seen a guitar with 3.5mm outputs before, and cant find anything on the internet.
