Doug Aldrich Undergoes Successful Throat Cancer Surgery

Former **DIO** and **WHITESNAKE** guitarist **Doug Aldrich** has undergone a successful surgery to treat a diagnosed throat cancer. The surgery took place on September 27, 2024, and was described as a long and challenging procedure, but ultimately successful due to Aldrich’s strength and determination.

Aldrich’s wife, Daniela “Danni” Aldrich, shared an update on her husband’s condition, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support and noting that the surgery went incredibly well. However, the road to recovery will be long, and Aldrich will not be able to participate in **THE DEAD DAISIES**’ upcoming European tour. He will be temporarily replaced by **Reb Beach** (of **WHITESNAKE** and **WINGER**).

Aldrich has a significant history in the music industry, having played with **DIO** from 2002 to 2006 and with **WHITESNAKE** from 2002 to 2014. He has also been a member of **THE DEAD DAISIES** since 2016, contributing to several of their albums.
