[gear] Is the Squier Classic vibe series a good first electric guitar?

I’ve been playing the guitar for a while and I’m alright, I’m looking into getting an electric guitar now and would like a solid guitar that plays well and will last. After doing some research the CV series seems to be a good bet but is 450/500 too much to spend on a fist guitar or is the CV series not all that it cracks up to be?
