I took my Jaguar in for a setup because I still can’t be bothered to learn how to do it myself for reasons unknown. Probably afraid of messing something up. Anyway, I picked it up after a couple of days and noticed the rosewood seemed excessively greasy. I wiped up what I could with a microfiber cloth. F-1 oil was used and he said he had to use 5 layers of it as the board was very dry. I’m not sure how he applied it and what constituted a layer but, after a week, lots of visible oil is still coming off onto my fingers. The board/strings also feel like it was sprayed it with a bunch of finger-ease probably due to the oil if that’s any indication of how much was used. Not sure if this is a problem. I’ve only ever used maple necks.
