[QUESTION] Why are nicer guitars easier to play?

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question. I’m still a beginner.

I was recently in a local guitar shop killing some time. I strummed a few chords on a guitar and I was struck by how easy it was to play. Pressing the strings down seemed easier. I didn’t have to mash them down to get a clear tone, and overall it was much easier to switch chords. I put the guitar back up on the wall and then noticed that it was extremely expensive. Well of course. Expensive things are nice right?

Except every guitar that I played in that shop felt much easier to play than my guitar! Prices ranged from $300-$5000, and they all seemed equally easy to play.

Now I know my guitar isn’t great. I got it for around $100 in 2010. I also know that I don’t change my strings nearly as often as I should. My question is: what exactly makes those nicer guitars easier to play? It know it’s not just “new strings” because I remember not really noticing a difference after changing strings (elixir extra lights). I’m sure it’s something about the construction of the guitar, but I don’t know enough of the terms to even begin to guess.

Thanks!
