[DISCUSSION] Does anyone else not really connect with Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton’s music?

I know it’s heresy, especially as a Strat player, but I just don’t really connect with their music. I don’t dislike it by any means, and I get why they’re heralded as they are, but I don’t get enjoyment from listening to it. I can appreciate what they’ve given to guitar, and what we can learn from it. I do like a lot of music Clapton was involved with, such as Cream, or the JJ Cale tribute album , and ‘Riding With the King’ that he did with BB King, but was never really into his solo stuff as a whole. I vastly prefer listening to players like John Mayer, Chris Buck, SRV, ‘Kingfish’ Ingram, etc, several of whom were heavily influenced by Hendrix and Clapton. Is it just me, or do others not connect with them as well?
