Former **DIO** and **WHITESNAKE** guitarist **Doug Aldrich** has undergone a successful surgery to treat his throat cancer. The surgery was performed this week, and according to his wife, **Daniela “Danni” Aldrich**, it went incredibly well despite being a five-hour procedure with multiple steps. Aldrich has been diagnosed with a treatable form of throat cancer and will not be able to participate in **THE DEAD DAISIES**’ upcoming European tour. He will be temporarily replaced by **Reb Beach** (of **WHITESNAKE** and **WINGER**).
Aldrich’s wife expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from fans and friends, stating that their messages lifted his spirits and made a significant difference. The road to recovery will be long, but Aldrich is described as strong and loved by many. The band will keep fans updated on his progress and look forward to his return to the stage soon.
