[GEAR] Just switched from 10s to 9s

I have a Jackson JS22 Monarkh (Les Paul type body satin black)

I play classic rock or heavier blues when i jam out in my free time (been playing for 2 years, self taught)

I watched a few videos and frequented some discussions about string gauge affecting tone, neck feel, playability and whatnot. The 10s I was used to playing for 2 years started griming up a while ago, so when I stopped by my guitar store I decided to gives 9s a try for the hell of it.

The disbelief I am in over the comfort and playability is what inspired me to post this.

– ANYTHING YOU FRET IS EFFORTLESS. The guitar basically plays itself now. Hammer ons, pull offs, neck feel and comfort is unbelievable.

– I don’t consider myself a tone snob but I instantly recognised some clarity and brightness of every note I played – even when I played chords I could make out each note much clearer.

I understand thicker strings come in handy for different guitars or genres – but as someone with longer, fast but weak fingers this has been a lifechanger.

Biggest regret is not starting with 9s in the first place.
