I’m from the acoustic world and just recently have begun exploring the electric side of things. So, amps, pedals, effect loops, high gain, etc. are new to me.
I just bought my first high-gain amp, a Revv G20. Channel 1 is nice and clean and even responds well to the drive pedals I have, distorting nicely. But when I switch to Channel 2, I get a very loud hum/buzz through the amp/cab, even if I by pass the pedal board and plug the guitar straight into the amp.
My beginner question is … is the hum/buzz normal when you switch to a high gain, overdriven channel? Or did I get a bad amp? Be gentle – you were all beginners once! :)Thanks!
