[NEWBIE] Ring finger keeps muting the first string while playing the D chord

I started playing the guitar recently and have been using Justin’s videos to self teach. I practiced with switching between A and D chords a lot and can do it pretty comfortably, but when I strum I always realise my ring finger always slightly touches the first string, which mutes the noise. Is there a way to prevent this? I have been practicing non stop, but I can’t find a way around it.
