About two months ago, I bought an electric Jackson and started teaching myself how to play. I had about 5 years of experience on the cello and piano, so I have a pretty good left hand and a good feel for rhythm. I’ve taught myself a couple Sabbath and Metallica songs (no Kirk solos yet) and my crowing achievement is MoP. I recently had a dude approach me asking if I wanted to play lead in their indie band. I’ve wanted to be in a band for a while, and it was part of the reason I picked up the guitar, however I feel like I’m not ready to make music with other people yet. Mainly because I can’t put anything together that doesn’t sound like garbage and I don’t know anything when it comes to theory. So where should I go from here
