Since I had kids a few years ago the only time I’ve really had to practice and learn new songs has been after the rest of the family goes to bed, so no amp. Can’t play with headphones or won’t be able to hear the little ones. I’ve been doing everything on my LP unplugged. I’ve noticed that my playing is a lot tighter and more expressive even though I’m playing in a week what I used to play in a day. I really think that playing unplugged like that reveals a lot more mistakes in practice and forces me to play much more expressively to make the songs sound good.
Just something I wanted to share because you never know what tidbit will help someone.
