[QUESTION] Am I the only one who bars all the strings in a bar chord, no matter the shape?

So I’ve been playing guitar for 8 months and I’ve noticed that ever since I started playing bar chords (which I started about a week into playing), I’ve been barring all strings no matter the bar chord shape (even C shape even though in theory I only have to barre the EBG strings). Is it a bad habit to do that? Are there any disadvantages to this? Is it a bad thing to do in practice? It seems to helps me switch bar chords while playing rhythm guitar way quicker.
