[QUESTION] Is still the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 the go-to budget interface?

Hi there! A few years ago (5, 10 maybe?) the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 was suggested as the go-to budget interface for home recording and whatnot.

Do you know if this is still the case? If not, what other alternatives are nowadays?

My goals are pretty basic: record myself, and have some way to plug my guitar into my computer without having to set up my amp (preeetty small apartment).

These are not particularly cheap around here, so I wanted to double-check before pulling the trigger.
