[QUESTION] My brand new strat neck seems to have a high nut. Should I file the nut slots or the nut itself?

Here are some images [1] [2] that will better show what I’m talking about. I am using 10-46 strings and they seem to sit more on top of the nut rather than in the slot itself. Also, it requires more force than normal to play the first fret. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
