Like all of you, music has been such a big piece of my life. But its hard to keep at trying to become a musician. Being able to take the leap from “guitar player” to “musician” is a whole other ball game. And in the end, we’re just doing it for ourselves. No one else really cares. Yeah they might think its cool for us to play them their favorite songs, but thats about it. No one would care about any music we create. Most the time our playing/practicing annoys other people. Only a couple people in here are going to be in successful bands.
Every time i look at any of my instruments, all i can think is “whats the point”. Dont get me wrong, i still love listening to music and playing my favorite songs. My problem is that i cant justify the time/effort/money to myself to take it to the next level. Learning all this music theory, developing amazing technical skills, and trying to become a “musician” all seem like fruitless efforts.
