[QUESTION] Turn 4 string short scale bass to 4 string baritone?

Hey all!

So I had no idea that Wes Borland used a semi bass/guitar setup for some songs, found out when I saw PRS made a custom one for him. Mixture of bass and guitar strings.

I can’t help but be fascinated, and started thinking about building something like that. First thought was a short scale bass. Ibanez Mikro comes to mind.

I already expect string spacing to be different.

Pickups may be an issue…not sure. Anyone try this? Seems like a relatively inexpensive experiment.
