Curious to know if anyone has the same thing: I try to play a lot and practise a lot. I’m solidly intermediate, with all the right equipment. Some days, my fingers, ears and brain are in perfect unison and I feel great and like I am improving. Like, for instance, two days ago I was pretty sure someone might listen to me and say, wow, you sound like (a cut-price) Dickey Betts (I was trying to do a note for note Liz Reed solo). Some days however, it’s like nothing’s working. And I sound like a total amateur Why? It’s so frustrating. Anyone else experience this? Why are the gods so cruel?
