I’ve been playing guitar for almost ten years now, but I’ve never taken the instrument seriously. I started actually learning how to play and understand music theory (very basic grasp of it, nowhere near competent yet). Hey, I’ve been wondering if guitar players’ different levels are a real thing at all. I’ve been playing for 10 years in row practicing a bit everyday, nowadays 1-3h in a day and that’s a lot for me, having university studies, friends and a couple of bands as well. I 🎸

I’m a synth guy, so I’ve always dealt with line level signals at my studio. My friend is an amazing guitar player, but he doesn’t know much about recording. We tried recording his guitar at my studio and we’re running into clipping issues. First, my signal path may look a 🎸

So from my understanding there’s 7 modes derived from each note in a major scale. The Aeolian mode is the relative minor to the Ionian mode. So if I’m playing in the key of A minor I’m playing the same chords and note as if I’m playing in the key 🎸

Me: Been in the game since the 80s. Long enough to see people abandon Fender and Gibson for Superstrats, then abandon Superstrats for Fenders and Gibsons, and now those abandoned “Superstrats” are vintage and suddenly cool again (and outperforming my 401K) For about 20 or so years, I was definitely 🎸
